Do you want to begin to learn about the art of beekeeping? Willamette Valley Beekeepers Association (WVBA) hosts a beekeeping school every year. Our goal is not to teach you everything about the art of beekeeping, because there isn’t enough time, but to teach you enough to instill confidence in beekeeping. We want you to be comfortable in getting your own bees.
We use The Beekeeper’s Handbook by Diana Sammataro and Alphonse Avitabile for a text. It is a fantastic book that you can refer back to for many years to come.
When
The Willamette Valley Beekeepers Association annual bee school takes place in February, with a field day in April. This year, the classroom dates are Feb 12, 17, & 19. The field day is scheduled for April 11.
Where
The bee school will be held at the WVBA’s normal meeting location, which is Chemeketa Community College – Building 34, Room A, Salem OR.
Cost
WVBA Bee School is only $40.00 which includes the book (retail value $30.00) and a year membership to WVBA.
