A Note from the President by Rich Farrier

Willamette Valley Beekeepers Association Established in 1967.

March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers.

Our next meeting is going to be held on March 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm.  Dewey Caron is going to speak on “What to do with your new livestock.”  He is also going too have some information on how to enter data for the 2016 Bee Loss Survey.  I also have some information about oxalic.

A big thanks to Fred Mann for manning the booth at the Linn County Pollinators Conference.  Your time is greatly appreciated.

I’ve just received a report that someone stole a nuc out of 20 plus colonies that belong to Washington State University.  They were being used for research in the almond orchards in California.  Sad news.  I guess we are all going to have to install locator chips in our hives.

WVBA Bee Day will be held on April 16, 2016 at 9:00 am.  Steven Coffman is hosting it again this year.

Lots of trees, shrubs, plants, and weeds are blooming.  The big leaf maple is in bloom in the valley.

Cheers, Rich
